Having created the global workplace design standards for Boston Scientific, the team became the primary partner for rollout of the European portfolio of projects as and when there was a compelling event.
Now on iteration 5 of the global workplace design standards, we have become a trusted partner for the global real estate team and their go-to for projects. Boston Scientific are a US based biomedical/biotechnology engineering company with a huge portfolio of properties across the globe and annual revenues over $14bn. Acquisition of other businesses has been a primary focus for the business, and this has led to extensive project work, integrating businesses into Boston Scientific facilities, or co-locating acquired businesses alongside existing location.

The design standards are a key component for the success of projects and have been carefully created to allow the local stakeholders to have a level of input into the design of their spaces, whilst retaining the overall look and feel of a Boston Scientific space. The design standards have also enabled the procurement team to create framework agreements with key suppliers globally, creating extensive commercial benefits and driving down costs, whilst maintaining or increasing quality.
The team created a framework agreement with Boston Scientific which was centered around transparency in the supply chain, enabling rapid engagement on projects and eliminating the need for complex, multi-bid tenders on projects. This has streamlined the way in which Boston Scientific have been able to procure projects, resulting in time savings of up to 40% on an overall project timeline and creating efficiencies in the net cost of construction.
