BMW approach Zenixspace in 2022 with the brief of creating the workplace of the future for 2 locations in Austria and Germany.
Zenixspace won this prestigious appointment after creating a concept which was innovative, forward thinking and challenged BMW to think entirely differently about the function of the working environment.
Having been challenged by the impact of the Covid-19 and the ongoing appetite from staff to continue flexible working, the concept was to entice people back to the workspace and promote collaboration and idea sharing, without forcing back.

Zenixspace created a design concept with a central theme being collaborative and social hubs, following extensive engagement with staff. The overwhelming theme from staff was that they wanted to do focused working from home, whilst coming to the office to collaborate and share experiences. The Global Head of Real Estate at BMW stated that ‘Zenixspace heavily challenged our thinking around the function of the workspace and made us question our preconceptions, pushing us out of our comfort zone and creating a workplace which is more suited to the way people are working in a post COVID-19 world.’
In addition to carrying out strategy and design services, the Zenixspace team provided coordination of MEP services design, change management and created a playbook for the rollout of the new way of working which was essential to the success of the project.
